Job description
We're looking for a hands-on nursery technology expert to help modernize how we grow and track certified coffee seedlings. You'll be the bridge between innovation and the nursery floor — supporting seedling batch tracking, traceability systems, and digital record-keeping across our production sites.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deploy and maintain nursery technologies including batch-tracking scanners, germination sensors, and irrigation controls across seedling beds
- Provide hands-on training and support to nursery staff and field agents using our seedling traceability platform
- Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and implement upgrades or fixes across nursery sites
- Collect and analyze batch data from digital tools to improve seedling quality tracking and system efficiency
- Collaborate with nursery managers and agronomy teams to adapt tracking systems to local nursery conditions
- Document nursery processes, user feedback, and system performance to inform continuous improvement
- Support pilots, demos, and trials of emerging nursery and traceability technologies
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Agricultural Engineering, Agritech, Horticulture, or related field
- 2+ years of experience in digital agriculture, nursery technology, or seedling traceability systems
- Familiarity with batch-tracking software, barcode/QR systems, sensors, or nursery automation tools
- Strong technical troubleshooting and communication skills
- Ability to work independently in the nursery and train non-technical users
- Passion for innovation in coffee seedling production and sustainable agriculture
- Willingness to travel to nursery sites across Uganda's coffee-growing districts
